Ultima Watch Magic Review
Box Packaging and Contents
The Utima Watch Magic is packaged in a cardboard box and shares a design reminiscent of the Nova smartwatch. The box bears the Ultima logo and prominently displays key features of the watch. Upon opening, customers will find the watch itself, along with rubber straps, documentation, and charging cables.
Look and Feel
When it comes to the appearance and feel of the Watch Magic, it exudes a standard aesthetic with a satisfactory tactile experience. While it may not offer a luxurious sensation, its design is slightly above average. Wearing it is comfortable, and it responds promptly without any issues of unresponsiveness encountered during testing. We’ve been evaluating the copper-colored variant, which is also available in black, both of which have a pleasing and conventional appearance.
Regarding the companion app, it presents essential information and settings in a neat manner, easily accessible and adjustable through the application. While the selection of watch faces is limited initially, they can be effortlessly swapped through the app. Despite the current constraint in watch faces, we anticipate an update to expand the options soon.
Display
It comes with a curved 1.83-inch TFT display, delivering a good display. In direct sunlight, the visibility remains good and this watch has a brightness level of 5, making it quite bright. Therefore, considering its durability, when it came to testing its Gorilla Glass protection, I had inadvertently subjected this watch to occasional bumps and scratches in my usage. Hence, I recommend applying a screen protector on this watch.
Reliability & Accuracy
When discussing the watch relatability, during our testing phase, we found it to be generally average in reliability. The heart rate monitoring and SpO2 monitoring are generally reliable. Similarly, the data from sleep monitoring is also generally reliable, albeit on an average level.
The data from other sports modes is also generally reliable, with an accuracy of around ±5%, which is acceptable for tasks such as sleep monitoring and step counting. However, it’s important to note that this data should not be used for medical purposes. If you require medical monitoring, it’s recommended to use dedicated medical devices.
IP68 Rating
The Ultima Watch Magic also boasts IP68 dust and water resistance, offering protection against normal splashes, casual swimming, and rain. However, we recommend avoiding prolonged use during water sports activities.
Battery
During testing, the battery performed well, providing a playtime of 5-7 days on a full charge. The actual duration of battery backup varies depending on usage patterns. In my personal usage, which involved continuous heart rate monitoring, frequent notifications, and calls throughout the day, the battery lasted impressively. Charging from 5-10% to full capacity typically takes around 45 to 50 minutes.
Bluetooth Calling
Among other features, Bluetooth calling is one of the highlighted features in the Ultima Watch Magic smartwatch. I regularly used Bluetooth calling on this device, and although there were occasional instances (1-2 times) where the voice wasn’t clear, most of the time Bluetooth calling worked smoothly, and the voice was clear at the end of the call.
Conclusion
In conclusion, considering the features, design, feel, and price point, the Watch Magic can be a good choice when compared to other smartwatches in this price segment. Its software and app usability are optimized, resulting in a good user experience. Therefore, if you’re in search of a smartwatch in this price range, the Watch Magic could be a solid option to consider.
