In 2022, China released Oppo Reno 8 Series with mid-ranged price segments and MediaTek Dimensity Chipsets. It has a high-definition Plus Resolution with Gorilla Glass 5 protection and a triple camera module.

Oppo Reno 8 Series Overviews
In China, the Reno 8 Series has classic, Pro, and Pro+ variants but while launching in India it came with vanilla and Pro variants only. As per Oppo, it rebranded the Chinese Pro+ variant to Reno Pro while launching in India.
Built & Display
The Pro variant has a flat-edge design with a squarish-shaped elevating camera module on the back. But the series doesn’t have a notification light around the camera module compared to Reno 7 series.
For display, both variants have different sizes 6.43-inch for vanilla and 6.7-inch for Pro variants. Although both the series get the same AMOLED, FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
But has a different touch sampling rate for vanilla it gets 180Hz and for Pro it has a 360Hz refresh rate. Along with an in-display fingerprint scanner for biometrics.

Performance
Inside the vanilla variant, it is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1300 which is paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage.
But Reno 8 Pro, is powered by a custom MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max chipset; co-developed by Oppo and MediaTek to offer optimized performance overall. Which is then paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage.
Both series are based on Android 12 with ColorOS 12.1.
Camera & Battery
Both Series come with a triple camera module; the Pro variants is with Oppo’s in-house processor, called Marisilicon X. Which highlights the camera segment by reducing noise in the image and enhancements for better low-light photography.
Additionally, chips as well as OPPO’s unique portrait algorithm matrix form a professional dual-core portrait photography system, creating clear details and true colors.
That being said the Pro model comes with a 50MP primary, 8MP ultrawide, and 2MP macro lens on the rear, and a 32MP Sony IMX709 sensor on the front.
But unlike the Pro model, the vanilla one doesn’t get dedicated chips for the camera but has a similar camera setup. Except for the ultrawide angle lens which is replaced by a 2MP B&W sensor.
Fueling both series is a 4500mAh battery that supports 80W fast charging.

The Oppo Reno 8 is INR 29,999 for 8/128GB and Oppo Reno 8 Pro is INR 45,999 for 12/256GB in India. The Series is expected to start from Rs. 55,000 when launched in Nepal.
