Built & Display

Motorola has made some changes to the design of the Moto G23, including a new camera bump that is rectangular with rounded corners. Additionally, there are three new color options available. Despite these changes, the flat-edged design of the G22 has been retained.

The phone has a 6.5-inch IPS display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 400 nits of brightness, but the resolution remains at 1600 x 720 pixels.

Performances & Camera

The most significant upgrade on the Moto G23 will be the chipset. The phone will feature the MediaTek Helio G85, which is a significant improvement over the Helio G37 used in the previous generation.

The G85 has a two-cluster CPU with two Cortex-A75 cores running at 2GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores running at 1.8GHz, while the Mali-G52 GPU is also more powerful than the IMG PowerVR GE8320. The phone will come with 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of eMMC storage.

The Moto G23 features a triple camera setup on the back, including a 50MP primary camera. However, Motorola has removed the 2MP depth sensor, and instead, the 5MP ultrawide sensor also serves as a depth sensor. The front of the phone has a 16MP selfie sensor, located in a punch-hole cutout.

Battery & Other Features

It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 30W TurboPower charging. The phone also has stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, and Snapdragon Sound for audio enhancements.

Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and NFC support, and it runs on Android 13-based My UX out of the box.

Final Thoughts

The Moto G23 is a budget-friendly smartphone that offers a number of impressive features for its price point. The design changes include a new camera bump and color options, and the triple camera setup on the back offers good picture quality.

It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery, supports 30W TurboPower charging, and has stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, and Snapdragon Sound for audio enhancements. However, it’s worth noting that the resolution of the display is 1600 x 720 pixels, which is lower than some other smartphones in the same price range and it also has not any IP rating for water or dust resistance.

In comparison to its predecessor Moto G22, the G23 has a new camera bump design and new color options, a better and more versatile camera setup, and it ships with the latest Android 13-based My UX out of the box.
