The Pixel 7a boasts a stylish design with color-matching side frames and a metallic camera layout, similar to its siblings, the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. It comes with three different color options Sea, Charcoal, Snow, and Coral. But the Coral color option is only available in the US, Google has also taken an eco-friendly approach by incorporating 100% recycled aluminum for the phone’s frames.
Moving to the display part, it has a notable improvement by introducing a higher refresh rate to its “a” series, featuring a 90Hz refresh rate, delivering smoother and more fluid visuals. Performances
It does get a noticeable upgrade in its performance too. Featuring the powerful Tensor G2 chip, which is the same chipset used in other devices in the Pixel lineup. Which ensures enhanced processing capabilities and overall performance. It is also equipped with the Titan M2 security coprocessor, providing robust security features to protect user data and privacy.
Google has also increased the RAM capacity from 6GB to 8GB, with 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage, providing ample space for storing apps, photos, videos, and other files. However, it’s important to note that there is no option to expand the storage using an external microSD card. Preloaded Android 13, the latest version of the operating system at the time of its release. Which is slated to receive 3 major OS upgrades and up to 5 years of security updates.
Camera
One of the significant upgrades in pixel 7a is in the camera department. Google has provided the 7a with improved camera specs like replacing the dual 12MP sensors of the Pixel 6a with a 64MP 1/1.73″ primary sensor (equipped with optical image stabilization) and a 13MP ultrawide sensor. Which boasts a sensor size that is 72% larger than the previous version. There is also a significant improvement in the low-light conditions.
Alongside, the 3MP ultrawide sensor which brings a wider field of view, expanding from 114° to 120°. Moreover, the ultrawide sensor now supports autofocus, adding more versatility to the camera setup.
In the front, the phones get a 13MP with a wider field of view as well for selfies. It is to be said the 7a inherits all the software-based features found in the regular Pixel 7 series.
