Asus ROG Phone 7 Series Overview
Asus ROG Phone 7 Ultimate
Asus has made some notable changes in the ROG Phone 7 series, replacing the Pro model with the Ultimate variant. One of the features that set this gaming phone apart is the brand-new AeroActive portal.
With the addition of an AeroActive Cooler, this device located at the back of the ROG Phone 7 automatically opens up and delivers direct airflow from the cooler to the phone’s vapor chamber, resulting in a 20% increase in thermal efficiency.
Moreover, the ROG Vision is an exclusive feature of the Ultimate model. This comprises a small matrix color display on the phone’s back, which acts as a notification alert with animations for incoming calls, charging, and other system events. Users can even customize their own unique animations based on their preferences.

Performances
The ROG Phone 7 and ROG Phone 7 Ultimate are almost indistinguishable apart from the two added features mentioned earlier. Both devices use Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, with a maximum clock speed of 3.2GHz.
Compared to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip used in the ROG Phone 6 series, the new chip is 15% faster and 15% more energy-efficient.
It also comes equipped with 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage and up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, which runs at a speed of 8,533Mbps, twice as fast as its predecessor UFS 3.0.
Cooling System
The new series boasts a 15% improvement in power efficiency compared to its predecessor, thanks to the latest chip alone. The GameCool 7 takes it a step further with three key components.
The first component, made of boron nitride, prevents CPU throttling during short gaming sessions. For moderate gaming sessions, they come with a vapor chamber and graphite sheets.
The internal redesign has resulted in a larger and more efficient vapor chamber. To improve efficiency, trident-shaped wick columns replace the chamber’s typical pillar constructions. Six channels are also included to prevent water from flowing backward into the chipset.
If that is not enough, users can use the AeroActive Cooler 7, which attaches to the back panel. The DualCool architecture allows for simultaneous cooling of the front and back of the phones.
Additionally, the AeroActive Cooler 7 comes with an integrated subwoofer that produces 2.1 channel sound when attached, boosting the bass loudness of the twin-firing speakers by 77%.
Display & Other Features
Both models feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel manufactured by Samsung, with a resolution of 2448 x 1080 pixels. The panel boasts a peak brightness of 1500 nits and a refresh rate of 165Hz.
It covers 111.23% DCI-P3 space and has an average Delta E of less than 1. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus and is HDR10 certified.
Both new ROG gaming phones are equipped with 6000mAh batteries that support 65W fast charging, and the package includes a suitable HyperCharge adapter. You can use either of the two USB-C connectors to charge your phone.
