Xiaomi has officially released MIUI 13 in India. It is the company’s next major software upgrade for its own Android skin. Meanwhile, the company unveiled MIUI 13 based on Android 12 alongside the Xiaomi 12 series back in December. This latest version of its custom Android interface will run on Android 12. Similarly, it will include several customizations to help make the interface stand out.
On the other hand, the company plans to push out MIUI 13 globally to Mi users starting in the first quarter of 2022. Meanwhile, India has officially received the MIUI 13 starting today. Without further delay, let’s look into its features and compatible devices.

The Android 12-based MIUI 13 boasts a redesigned interface, advanced privacy features, and improved performance. Here’s everything you need to know about some of the changes in MIUI 13.
Responsive UI
Xiaomi has promised significant improvements to the user interface with the release of MIUI 13. For instance, the home screen widgets will look like they’re from iOS 14. Similarly, there are several widget panels to choose from, while you can adjust the size and appearance of the widgets similar to iOS 14. Aside from that, the new MIUI 12 based on Android 12 comes with several new live wallpapers.
Advance Privacy
Xiaomi has revealed that MIUI 13 will have several privacy features, including face verification protection, privacy watermarking, and fraud prevention. Also, the phone will scan the upper body in addition to the face with the new advanced Face Unlock feature for further protection.
Performance Improvements
Xiaomi claims that MIUI 13 would be significantly quicker and more app-fluent than prior versions. According to the company, 3rd-party apps have 15% fewer frame drops, while native apps will have 23% fewer frame drops. Xiaomi also claims that a flagship device can run 14 apps in the background without a performance drop.
MIUI 13 Update Roadmap
The Mi flagships, of course, will be the first to get the upgrade, followed by the Redmi Note 10 series. Similarly, the latest MIUI 13 includes several new features, including improved security, additional privacy options, wallpapers, and widgets.
List of Devices
As MIUI 13 is one of the most anticipated custom OEM interfaces for Android, it is likely to appear in various Xiaomi Mi, Redmi, and Poco phones. The company has provided the first list of devices that will receive the MIUI 13 stable upgrade starting in Q1 2022. The following devices are on the list:

Does that mean POCO mobiles don’t get Android Based MIUI 13 Updates?
Well, there are no POCO devices on the first list. Having been said that, the company has not stated any such things. And it appears that the POCO will receive MIUI 13 updates based on Android 12.
As for this article, the stable version of Android 12 has started rolling out to Xiaomi’s sub-brand POCO’s POCO X3 Pro smartphone in India. According to reports, the new update is 3.1GB in size and has version number 13.0.1.0.SJUINXM. In addition, the update brings February 2022 security patch.

To be clear, this is only the first batch of phones and tablets to receive the MIUI 13 upgrade. As a result, the remaining Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO smartphones will receive the update soon.
