Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 2022 Overview

At the first glance, Zephyrus G14 has an ultraportable design that is nearly identical to that of its predecessor and is available in Moonlight White and Eclipse Gray. The Virtual PetOMNI now has new games like Shoot’em Up, Whack-A-Mole, and Slot Machine, and the updated AniMe Matrix features more LEDs for more intricate animations.

More of the changes can be seen when opening the ultrabook, like a 14″ IPS LCD screen with a smaller lower bezel and a taller 16:10 aspect ratio. A 120Hz QHD screen or a 144Hz FHD panel is available; the QHD panel has 100% DCI-P3 coverage, Pantone validation, and 500 nits of brightness.
Additionally, Asus has improved the user’s privacy and security by including a dedicated webcam that supports Windows Hello authentication in the upper bezel.

Keyboard, Touchpad, Audio
The 2022 ultrabook has several upgraded functions. The keypad now has N-key rollover, customizable hotkeys with macro features, and one zone RGB backlighting. To make up for the larger screen, the touchpad has also been expanded by 50%.
Twin tweeters, Smart Amp woofers, and six basic audio preset that the user can modify have all been added to improve the audio system. To improve the overall experience of the laptop, Asus has also added two-way AI noise cancelation designed especially for video calls and streaming.

In terms of memory, it has DDR5 RAM and a PCIe 4.0 SSD for memory. The motherboard has 16GB of DDR5-4800 RAM soldered onto it, and a further 16GB of RAM can be installed in the other SO-DIMM port. Users can get up to 1TB of PCIe NVMe 4.0 SSD capacity.
Cooling System
As for thermals, Asus now claims an enhanced thermal management system. It is an improvement over the previous version, which only provided liquid metal for the CPU, and features a vapor chamber heatsink with over 48% board coverage. With 84 curved blades and varying blade thicknesses, Asus has also updated the Arc Flow Fans, which can produce up to 32% more airflow and operate 2% more quietly.

Battery & Other Features
The device has a 76Wh 4-cell Li-ion battery which is not changed. The Kensington lock slot has been changed with a UHS-II Micro SD card reader, and the laptop comes with a 100W Type-C power adapter.
Several ports, including an HDMI 2.0b connector, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports, one USB 3.2 Type-A port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The Zephyrus G14 offers Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6E for wireless communication.
